My very first professional job as a photographer was a headshot session in San Francisco. I spent the next 2 years of my photography career only taking portraits for actors. I learned most of what I know from these experiences. Seeing and finding light. Posing and giving direction. Color and portrait composition. A professional headshot is a very specific "standard" photo that in a lot of ways really limits creativity, but I love the challenge of creating different moods and looks within the restrictions. It's been over a year since I shot my last headshot session. I've really missed it. Thanks Maggie. Shot in SE Portland, Oregon.
